This was one of our first new builds carried out in 2010 the development consisted of the demolition of an existing single story mechanics Garages and the construction of a 3 storey mixed use building to provide 7 High Specification self-contained units for the rental market comprising of a mixture of 1,2 and 3 bedrooms and 3 commercial units including, cycle storage, private/ communal amenity space in the form of a roof terrace.
Our involvement on this project ran from the pre-construction phase where we acted as the client's advisors working closely with the architects and engineers to aid in putting together all the pre-construction information through to completion.
The site is located next to the railway on 4 m of made ground because of this the solution was piled foundations with a reinforced concrete ring beam and slab. The construction was load bearing masonry walls with timber floors and stairs with impressive lead roof and dormers.
